My interests in the distillation of verse and form led me to develop and perform a 10-minute song cycle at Smock Alley Theatre (Dublin), as part of the 2023 Scene + Heard Festival.
'BUS STOP BUS' comprised of 3 songs, each with a distinctive, looped sentence sung over separately-composed tracks.
Minimalism is a predominant feature in my approach to performance, as it is the essence of a piece which I feel can get lost with frivolities in its output.
This isn't of course to say that I associate myself with only “uncomplicated” music - far from it! I am currently a member of Maspindzeli, a London choir specializing in the great tradition of Georgian polyphonic singing.
